Unlike PP and PE with multiple copolymer variants, PC is mainly categorized by performance modification grades based on application demands, with core mainstream types including general-purpose PC, flame-retardant PC, high-flow PC and impact-modified PC:
General-purpose PC Balanced rigidity, transparency and impact resistance, with universal melt fluidity. It serves as the base grade for most standard transparent and structural components. Suitable applications: Clear protective covers, optical lenses, daily transparent housings, automotive interior decorative parts and common electronic casings.
High-flow PC Optimized melt flow for thin-wall injection molding, excellent filling capacity for tiny precision structures while preserving basic toughness and clarity. Suitable applications: Ultra-thin electronic parts, small precision consumer electronics components, mini transparent connectors and thin-wall medical devices.
Flame-retardant PC Added halogen-free flame retardant formula to reach high fire safety ratings, retaining core PC toughness without sacrificing transparency or mechanical performance. Suitable applications: Power supply enclosures, electrical component housings, server parts, charging equipment casings and indoor electrical safety components.
High-impact modified PC Enhanced low-temperature impact resistance, effectively resisting cracking under cold conditions and harsh mechanical loads. Suitable applications: Outdoor safety shields, automotive exterior parts, security equipment, outdoor electronic housings and cold-resistant structural pieces.
PC has extremely diverse high-end applications. In electronics and electrical appliances, it is used for charger housings, laptop casings, display panels and electrical safety components. In the automotive industry, lightweight transparent parts, lamp covers and safety structural components rely on PC for crash resistance. Other mainstream uses include optical lenses, medical disposable equipment, safety protective shields, high-end transparent household goods, and construction sound-insulating, anti-collision transparent panels.
